diary - day 300 (retroactive)
Forgot to write this yesterday, oops. 300 days in my role now, wow.
Busy day! Was in the office, and it was a double-whammy. Got to enjoy the morning first, though, with my Wife and Pup. We've been doing walks at 7am, and they're just a great way to start the day - especially as I've not been going to the gym.
I was cracking out some last-minute changes to turn on our feature globally for our users, which ended up taking up my whole morning and part of the afternoon. Then had to log in for some of the evening to finish it. Quietest launch ever, though. We need some big bads to happen before it gets used!
Then, a few hours of intense-ish system design. We're doing a bunch of technical uplift/rework to make our system much more future-proof (and better now, too). Had a brainstorming session primarily with one other engineer, but then later joined by two more. It was good. We were on the same page from the get-go (though I worry that means we didn't do much divergent thinking). But I'll write it up and draw it up to share and get feedback from a wider base.
