Finding my tools
One thing I've been trying to do over the past few years, semi-actively, is find new and better ways to work - Primarily through great tools/apps/products.
A big reason why is that I need as much help as I can get in staying focused. With adhd and a job that moves fast, it's difficult to stay on top of things for more than 5 minutes. I also just like 'feeling' productive.
Most of the time, things don't stick. Either they're not captivating enough, I'm not motivated enough, I get distracted, they're not effective enough, or some other reason. One painful one is I'm 'not allowed' to use it on work devices / with work data without an enterprise-y plan.
I find it so frustrating. One great thing is using these things outside of work, though. For example, when I'm building things (like flagdown right now) solo, I get to use whatever I want. Like, I love using Linear and PostHog. I want to try out BetterStack. I want to try out some deployment tools like Railway and Fly.io.
I always circle back to pen and paper temporarily, but I'm even worse at being consistent there. The closest thing to consistent for me is Todoist, but as soon as I try to use it for work, it fails me... Or I fail it.
I need to find myself some more tools. And no, I don't want a tools directory
